Workshop Summary
An introduction to the basic concepts for properly storing equipment for future use, and the disposal of electric equipment that has reached the end of its useful life.

Who Should Attend
Employees who manage electric equipment inventories or those who are responsible for the proper disposal of electric equipment that has reached the end of its useful life.

9:30–10 a.m.     Registration

10 a.m.              Best Practices for Storing Electric Equipment
This session will focus on best storage practices promoted by the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program, including organization, shelf weight limits, signage/marking, and spills.

10:30 a.m.         Disposal of Junk Electric Equipment
This session will cover a series of topics aimed at educating attendees on the general disposal requirements for electric equipment with an emphasis on managing equipment that is or may be contaminated with PCB
  • Disposal of Non-PCB Wastes
  • What are PCBs and the significance of proper disposal
  • Use Assumptions for Equipment that may contain PCBs.
  • Storage of Equipment for Reuse
  • Storage of Equipment for Disposal

12:15 p.m.        Warehouse Walk-Through
An active participation session to help raise awareness of issues relevant to the storage and management of electric equipment.
