AMI - GIS SPECIALIST

Polk‐Burnett Electric Cooperative, Centuria, Wis. is seeking a full‐time AMI/GIS Specialist. This position will work with the cooperative's Geographic Information System (GIS) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data to create, update, and maintain an accurate model of the electric and metering system. This position provides reports and analyses for use in improving the efficiency of cooperative operations and works with importing/integration of AMI data for the billing system to ensure accurate and reliable readings.

The successful candidate must have an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in computer science, GIS, engineering technology, or closely related field. Experience in GIS software or data analytics is preferred. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and express technical information clearly and simply with employees, members, and others in order to maintain a good working relationship. Must be efficient, organized, detail-oriented, and have strong follow‐up skills. Must be able to make decisions in the best interest of the cooperative regardless of the circumstances. Handling numerous assignments simultaneously and managing confidential information with judgment and discretion is essential. Knowledge of system hardware and technical knowledge in the installation, diagnostics, and operation of software and personal computer hardware is preferred. Must be proficient in the use of Windows operating systems and all Microsoft Office products. Effective analytical, problem‐solving, and research skills required.
