CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative, Rosholt, Wisc.The Board of Directors (Board) of Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (CWEC) invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Board has selected Dairyland Power Cooperative to facilitate the search process.

CWEC is an electric distribution coop that provides electricity to over 8,000 meters on 1,443 miles of primary and secondary electric lines, which is divided between 853 miles of overhead and 590 miles of underground in Central Wisconsin. Members are located in parts of Waupaca, Portage, Shawano, and Marathon Counties.

The CEO is responsible for the overall management of CWEC. This position reports directly to a seven‐member Board of Directors, elected by membership. The CEO is accountable to the Board and is responsible for the overall performance of CWEC to include the leadership and management functions of planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and running the activities of CWEC in accordance with policies, long-range plans, and business objectives delegated by the seven-member CWEC Board.

As the CEO, you will have the opportunity to further cultivate safety first and expand member satisfaction by:

  • Collaborating with the Board of Directors to develop, implement and communicate a comprehensive strategic plan with clear, measurable goals and objectives.  Ensures the strategic plan is updated periodically and progress is reported to the Board.
  • Providing strong leadership, vision, team building, communication, coaching, and assistance to the employees of CWEC and the Board concerning strategic planning, industry changes, business objectives, and policy needs that support CWEC’s mission and provide guidance for overall operations.
  • Empowering team members to attain objectives while implementing policies and business plans in support of CWEC’s strategic plan and establishing effective criteria to guide and measure performance.
  • Working effectively with the CWEC Board of Directors possessing a collaborative, team-oriented approach to governance.
  • Representing CWEC in interactions with the local community, media, other cooperatives, elected and government officials, and the public.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role, CWEC requires, at a minimum, the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance, Business Management, Energy Management, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership/management experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Previous cooperative experience is favorable.
  • Highest levels of ethics, authenticity, and integrity.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Professional business acumen with strong management and visionary leadership skills
  • Exemplification of cooperative business model and values.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning, problem-solving, conflict management, and resolution skills.
