COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association (WECA) is accepting applications for a newly created Compliance Specialist position. The successful candidate will join WECA’s compliance team and support electric distribution utility cooperative members located in northwestern Wisconsin (an area with an approximate 60-mile radius from Menomonie, WI). The position requires residency within this area. Frequent travel is required; a company vehicle is provided.
This position works directly with an assigned group of electric distribution cooperatives to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include exercising independent judgment; developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, safety, transportation, and other regulatory compliance programs; evaluating cooperative practices; ensuring appropriate employee training; maintaining records; and assessing program effectiveness while applying sound business judgment.
The ideal candidate has experience in a compliance role and either prior electric utility experience or strong knowledge of electric utility operations. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to manage deadlines independently. Strong interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and pride in delivering high-quality work are essential. Additional qualifications are outlined in the position description.
