Introduction to Retirement Planning
April 1, 2026 | 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
In this seminar a PIRC planner helps attendees determine how much retirement may cost, how they will pay for it, what might not go according to plan, and where to go for additional information and help. The program introduces the basics of retirement planning: assessing resources available for retirement income (including employer-provided retirement benefits and Social Security); and illuminating expenses in retirement (including health care costs and taxes).
The full-day Retirement Planning Seminar will be held on September 15, 2026. See program description in this booklet.
Know Your Numbers
June 10, 2026 | 8–9 a.m.
Attendees learn a step-by-step approach for calculating a savings goal in order to get—or stay—on track for a comfortable retirement, as well as highlights of some key financial challenges most people face in retirement.
Retirement Choices: What Can I Do With My Money
July 21, 2026 | 8–9 a.m.
An educational session on the distribution options for both the Retirement Security and 401(k) Pension Plans. Employees will learn about the pros, cons and implications of the options—and learn that there is no one-size-fits-all decision.
Retirement Planning Seminar
September 15, 2026 | 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
The NRECA Retirement Planning Seminar is designed for employees and their spouses who are within 5–10 years of retirement. It helps employees evaluate distribution options from their retirement plans, estimate retirement income and expenses, and realize the need for continued investment during retirement years. Health and long-term care issues are also addressed.
We encourage employees and their spouses who are within 5–20 years of retirement to attend. This will help employees to gauge if they are on the right track for their retirement years.
Key Topics Include:
NRECA retirement benefits
Investment planning/asset allocation
Health and long-term care
Retirement distribution strategies
Legal affairs and estate planning
Estimating retirement income
The Roth Option
October 15, 2026 | 2–3 p.m.
This seminar reviews the features and benefits of traditional and Roth contributions to the 401(k) Pension Plan, educating participants on factors to consider when deciding the contribution type(s) that are suitable for their circumstances and goals. We’ll also discuss Roth IRAs and the investment options in the 401(k) Plan.
