The Ideal Board: Clear Purpose, Effective Process, and Meaningful Performance
Instructed by Mitch Majeski, Peak Solutions
1-3/4 Skill Builder Credits

NOTE:
Pending approval of 1 credit towards Director Gold renewal.

A clear understanding of the board's purpose, efficient governance processes, and measurable performance outcomes are essential for achieving excellence and making a positive impact.

Topics include:
  • Purpose (Why are we here?): Providing advice, accountability, leveraging skills, abilities, knowledge, and expertise to future-proof your cooperative.
  • Process (How do we work?): Focusing on effective composition, structure, meeting organization, healthy debate, board member onboarding, leadership selection, and alignment with and support for leadership.
  • Performance (Are we making a positive impact?): Employing robust evaluation strategies and strategic frameworks to measure and ensure meaningful contributions and positive impact.
Directors will gain a robust understanding of governance best practices, participate in a self-assessment using the Build Better Boards evaluation tool, and develop a custom, actionable roadmap to strengthen their board’s purpose, processes, and performance.
