This webinar teaches directors how to interpret, question, and use financial dashboards and reports to govern confidently and strategically.
  • Identify the key financial indicators every board member should understand, including margins, equity levels, TIER, and debt ratios.
  • Understand how financial and operational metrics connect, and why both are essential for oversight and planning.

Understanding Capital Credits: Strategy, Stewardship, and Sustainability (instructed by Teri Wallis)
Capital credits are a cornerstone of cooperative finance and governance. This session helps directors understand their purpose, how they affect members and the balance sheet, and how to steward them responsibly.
  • Define the purpose and lifecycle of capital credits, including how allocations and retirements reflect cooperative principles and financial health.
  • Evaluate allocation and retirement practices, including equity targets, rotation strategies, and financial policy alignment.
  • Understand how capital credits impact member trust, financial reporting, and board decision-making over time.
  • Explore strategies for managing capital credit retirements during tight financial years or while planning large infrastructure investments.
  • Plan for sustainable rotation by integrating capital credit strategies into long-term financial and equity planning.
