The Capital Markets and Electric Cooperatives
This session will provide an overview of CFC’s funding sources and access to the capital markets including CFC’s interaction with the rating agencies and investors. In addition, the session will also focus on certain hot topics and trends in the capital markets and the electric cooperative industry.

This session will help directors better understand financial statements and be able to hone in on key areas, such as the Statement of Operations and Balance Sheet. It will also increase understanding of several important ratios such as Times Interest Earned Ratio (TIER) and Equity to Assets.

Strategic Planning—What is Keeping Directors Up at Night
This interactive session will guide attendees through CFC’s Commitment to Excellence publication focusing on case studies about commonly found issues directors encounter, from each of its three sections: Principled Leadership, Financial Stewardship and Governing for Risks and Change. Directors receive a hands-on experience thinking through scenarios designed to promote critical thinking around fiduciary responsibility and financial policy. Attendees break-up into small groups, discuss these issues and report their findings to the entire class.
