JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN POSITION

Oconto Electric Cooperative, Oconto Falls, Wis.—located in Northeast Wisconsin where national forests, lakes, rivers, and trails offer great opportunities for fishing walleye, small mouth bass, and perch, as well as hunting, golfing, hiking, biking, boating, snow sports, and much more.  OEC owns and operates, 10 substations, 60 mi 34.5 kv transmission, 645 mi URD, 800 mi OH serving over 10,800 members is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Journeyman Lineman. The ideal candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the construction, operation, and maintenance of distribution and transmission lines and substations.

High school diploma or equivalent, and Journeyman Lineman certificate of completion, with 5-10 years of progressive experience in all aspects of the electric utility construction, maintenance, and operations is required.  An understanding of RUS line construction specifications a plus. The successful candidate must have the ability to work well with others, be committed to cooperative philosophy, and adhere to all Safety and OSHA rules, regulations and guidelines.

This is a union position with the IBEW Local #2150. The successful candidate is required to live within 20 minutes of the cooperative headquarters and be available for after-hours standby, and hold a current class A, unrestricted commercial driver’s license (CDL).
