MIDWEST RURAL ENERGY COUNCIL (MREC)

What is the MREC?
The Midwest Rural Energy Council (MREC) is a cooperative effort between Extension programs at the University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, South Dakota State University and Iowa State University, and farm programs of member electric power suppliers in these states, whose mission is to support outreach, education and research on rural energy issues for the benefit of:

  • Farms and other rural energy consumers
  • Rural energy suppliers
  • Farm organizations and agricultural trade associations
  • Electrical equipment and allied industries
  • Government and regulatory


Associate Membership

Associate membership in the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association provides a continuing opportunity for providers of goods, services, materials, and equipment to build and maintain networking contacts with Wisconsin's electric co-ops and others with interests and needs related to all aspects of the electric power industry.
